the other anniversary..

4 years ago today, i was trying to get this girl that i just met for coffee to go out on a proper date. she was playing hard to get.. :) I dunno who came up with the whole waiting for two weeks before seeing each other again bit coz I sure as hell didn't buy it. We met up a few days before. It was coffee at starbucks. I wasn't a coffee person and I don't hang out at starbucks but it was a neutral enough place for a first time meet up.

The thing about coffee is, its harmless. And at the same time it gives u a way out. If u don't like the person u can always excuse urself after the first cup. If u had gone out for dinner the first time, then u can't really back off until the dinner has run its course.

There was no such problems for me la. The moment I saw her I knew that there was something here. Hehe. She looked way betterhotter than what I saw from her blog. I was guilty of checking up on her after I had asked her for coffee. We met up after work and what transpired was nothing short of magical. It was as if nuthing else mattered and we were just there the two of us talking and talking. We talked for what seem like ages. I never realised how long a cup of coffee can last.

That's not good business for starbucks la kan. Duduk berjam but only have that one cup to drink.

Anyways its hard to recall what was said and what was left unsaid. But what I do remember is telling her that I would definitely follow up on this.

So it started with me sending sms telling her about my weekend treasure hunt. Asking her what color of shirt should I get and stuff like that. She didn't immediately reply tho. I later found out that she did it on purpose. Didn't want to make it as tho she was THAAAT interested.

Anyhow, it was not until merdeka eve that I managed to convince her to meet up again. She was reluctant to go out coz of the anticipated jam and what not. I almost gave up. I was already home, and my mom cooked ayam masak lemak or was it daging masak lemak. I was about to dig in when I thought just for the sake of trying, to ask her one more time, if she would like to have dinner with me. Kelakar. She said yes plak. But I had to meet her in Bangsar.

Kuah lemak ke mana nasik ke mana, terus aje got ready to go.

Now I think everyone is familiar with what happened next? Dari tak tau driving directions nak sampai bangsar, to the whole me letting her order something lite coz I had already something. Mussles. Me not knowing her birthday. And macam-macam lagi. I'm sure i've written about all this before. Tak mo la recycle material now eh.

We hooked up some weeks later. Honestly, and the senorita would probably testify to this, I can't really remember the exact date this happened. But for administrative purposes, we decided that the merdeka eve date would be it.

So that was 4 years ago. And fast forward to today. We're still going strong. Sure we have our ups and downs and ups.. up up and away. The important thing to know is that we'll be there for one another no matter what. I know I can count on her and she can count on me. Well not only count la she can do a lot of other stuff to me also I don't mind. ;p

So happy (other) anniversary bb. Hope u like ur gift. :)

Brand new year, same old shit?

2017 is here. After that very eventful 2016 one can't help but hope that the new year brings about more positive things. It doesn't look all that good though.
Will we get an election this year? I'd seriously consider it if I was the pm. I mean yes he has go a lot going for him but what he doesn't have at the moment is a credible United opposition to give him a run for his money. So yeah. Calling for an early election may be something that can be to his favour.
Will stupid acts by stupid people stop making then famous? Nope. Early on we saw a bunch of kids scaling the IPOH sign for shits and giggles. Posted everything on social media. Last I heard they've already come in to give statements to the fuzz. So the moral of the story is if you wanna do stupid things don't blab on social media with your smiling mug there for everyone to see.
Pump prices are up. No point complaining anymore since the price mechanism is partially public so we can pretty much guess th…

What's in it for me.

Looking at how the campaign for the Sarawak state election is going you would think that is a matter of who can promise the most who would probably win it. Difference being one party boasts a track record and the other one, well depends on which other one that is doesn't.
I especially love it how these promises are all presented as conditional upon winning the election. Doesn't reek of bribery at all eh? Not buying votes. Yeah right.
You would think that given how Selangor and Penang are run, they would want to see it emulated in Sarawak? I guess loyalty goes a long way over there.
As it is there are a couple of outstanding issues that Sarawak can use as a bargaining chip in trying to force the federal government to start giving them more.
Oil royalties, more federal projects etc. and what better way to do it than to vote for the opposition?
If the opposition wins, then Sarawakians can send a message to the federal gov't that hey if you don't give us what we want than t…
