Today - Smashing Pumpkins

Today is the greatest
Day I ve ever kown
Cant live for tomorrow
Tomorrows much too long
I burn my eyes out
Before I get out

I wanted more
Than life could ever grant
Bored by the chore
Of saving face

Today is the greatest
Day I have ever known
Cant wait for tomorrow
I might not have that long
Ill tear my heart out
Before I get out

Pink ribbon scars
That never forget
Ive tried so hard
To cleanse these regrets
My angel wings
Were bruised and restrained
My belly stings

Today is
Today is
Today is
The greatest day
That I have ever known

I want to turn you on
I want to turn you round
I want to turn you on
I want to turn you

Today is the greatest
Today is the greatest day
Today is the greatest day
That I have ever known

if anything, what life has taught me thus far is to always count ur blessings. that and to never eat yellow snow. okay the latter don't really apply but its a good tip nonetheless. last thursday,i had visited muz and eju at eju's parents' place. twas kinda like a raya visit la of sorts. went there straight after work, had an early dinner. the rendang padang was da bomb. hehe. twiddled around with muz's new phone for a bit. generally chillin. it was raining kinda heavily, but as it was getting late i had to make a move. as i was leaving, muz told me that the last time he came over to play badminton, he got into another accident. yes. again. i sorta laughed not ur mean spirited 'ha ha padan muka' kinda laugh, seriously thought the car had been through a lot.

anyways, i made my way home, taking the federal highway. as i entered from the kelana jaya exit, i noticed a few cars piled up by the side of the road. as i changed to the middle lane. the car in front of me stopped suddenly. as i had already gained momentum, i slammed the brakes to no avail. the car skidded on the wet road, and gently nudged the car in front. turned out that the driver stopped because a motorcyclist was on the road ahead of him having fallen down trying to avoid a car who was careless enough to switch lanes without any signals trying to avoid the earlier accident. i motioned for the driver to pull over. we had a quick look to see how bad the damage was. his car was okay. it was one of them old cars. bumper kuat. mine fared slightly worse. i thought it looked okay until i got home. the impact pushed the grill inside, making the hood unable to close properly. the headlights were fractured from the inside. have to change that also but i guess later la kot.

so my turn plak kena gelak ngan muz. hehe. i'm digressing.

initially i was kinda pissed. i mean somewhat frustrated la. accidents cost money and all. nak repair the car and what not. but then i realised. if i had been going faster (how fast can u go in a kelisa? reallly faaast heheh), things may be a lot worse. so for that i'm grateful la. changed la my driving habits for a bit. no more unnecessary speeding. no more tokyo drifting in the rain. ya ya.

on friday, the senorita came over with her family. sorta like kunjungan balas hari raya. they were on the way to visit a relative nearby and she asked if i wanted to follow. i of course okay aje. i guess its good also to start to get to know the family more. when u marry, u not only get ur spouse, ur getting the whole package. so some preparation is required la. hehe minimize the surprise.

then we caught the prestige saturday night at tgv ou. i thought the movie was good. story of rivalry and sacrifices. set in a background of magic and mystery. two great leading men, christian bale and hugh jackman. scarlett johansson (ooh) despite her brief screentime hehe kira balances it out la kot. senorita got her abang hugh and i got ms scarlett. hehe. she didn't like the movie that much though. incidentally we were told by muz and eju that their pet cat harry has gone to cat heaven. sorry for the loss guys.

on sunday keena had her open house and having learnt my lesson of never going there alone to avoid not having anyone to talk to, i brought the gorjes senorita along. and since i was in the neighbourhood, i asked muz and eju to join us as well. it looked like raining on our way to keena's and sure enough just as we arrived it rained heavily. the regular faces were there. i was surprised at myself for only eating the one serving of mee sup and some cakes. hehe. usually i'd be the last one to stop eating la kan. yeah right.

so that was like the weekend.

Brand new year, same old shit?

2017 is here. After that very eventful 2016 one can't help but hope that the new year brings about more positive things. It doesn't look all that good though.
Will we get an election this year? I'd seriously consider it if I was the pm. I mean yes he has go a lot going for him but what he doesn't have at the moment is a credible United opposition to give him a run for his money. So yeah. Calling for an early election may be something that can be to his favour.
Will stupid acts by stupid people stop making then famous? Nope. Early on we saw a bunch of kids scaling the IPOH sign for shits and giggles. Posted everything on social media. Last I heard they've already come in to give statements to the fuzz. So the moral of the story is if you wanna do stupid things don't blab on social media with your smiling mug there for everyone to see.
Pump prices are up. No point complaining anymore since the price mechanism is partially public so we can pretty much guess th…

What's in it for me.

Looking at how the campaign for the Sarawak state election is going you would think that is a matter of who can promise the most who would probably win it. Difference being one party boasts a track record and the other one, well depends on which other one that is doesn't.
I especially love it how these promises are all presented as conditional upon winning the election. Doesn't reek of bribery at all eh? Not buying votes. Yeah right.
You would think that given how Selangor and Penang are run, they would want to see it emulated in Sarawak? I guess loyalty goes a long way over there.
As it is there are a couple of outstanding issues that Sarawak can use as a bargaining chip in trying to force the federal government to start giving them more.
Oil royalties, more federal projects etc. and what better way to do it than to vote for the opposition?
If the opposition wins, then Sarawakians can send a message to the federal gov't that hey if you don't give us what we want than t…
